Love those green wings!
gutteridge: They certainly look more fluid than they sometimes can Ray.
It looks very German... Nice presentation, Chad. Is it on top of a hill?
gutteridge: You are spot on Elizabeth, on top of a hill, overlooking the Rhine and facing France.

I wonder if there will be a memorial to mark Mrs Merkel's attempt to take over Europe in the years to come?
gutteridge: You mean it has not already happened Alan?

German Imperialism blatently flaunted. Is there a nation in the world that hasn't tried to land grab... What about Iceland?
gutteridge: What about Greenland?

There is something about all those glorious monuments about trying to rule ' the world'...... those were the days.... I think there are over 600 statues of ' Der Kaiser'..... in Germany.
gutteridge: My goodness Astrid, that's over 600 more than there are of me.
I don't know if we go in for statues to celebrate victories, it doesn't say a thing about all the poor devils who died, on either side.
gutteridge: I think we have a few Brian.
Was that in the world cup?
gutteridge: A sort of World Cup.
Not won anything since though have they....
gutteridge: Ooh, this is an international programme Frank.

This was the last victory -
we don't like such a glorification now and it doesn't "look very German" now, this old Germany is passé for ever - we are friends of France - Monsieur Macron and Ms. Merkel are communicating very well with each other.
gutteridge: And thank goodness for that Philine.
Rather nice bas-relief.
gutteridge: Yes, it's a great monument Tom.
