Did they let you hit things with a hammer, Chad?
gutteridge: You will be surprised to learn that the answer is no Ray.
I like the perspective, almost documentary like.
gutteridge: That is a good point Rob.

restoration is always good
gutteridge: It should always be a joy.
Is that a tapestry? It's really lovely!
gutteridge: It is painted Elizabeth.

Will they be over-paining that Victorian frieze, Chad?
gutteridge: No Lisl, they have just removed the 1970s paint that covered it.

I assuming that the wall decoration is being protected whilst other restoration goes on?

Wonderful floral ornaments at the wall!
gutteridge: Yes, to think they were painted over in the 1970s.

Il y a du travail on dirait ...Bon courage
gutteridge: The work was of a high standard.
I love that stencilling.
gutteridge: It is wonderful to have it revealed again.
I've just looked at your church on the website and now see where this fits in. What a beautiful chancel arch, who on earth thought it would be better painted over!
gutteridge: The 1970s have a lot to answer for Brian, not just the flared trousers.
You are doing a good documentary here Chad
gutteridge: Being able to climb the scaffolding was amazing Bill. Norma and I were acutely aware of this rare opportunity to see stuff up close.
