White week

Hello and welcome to WHITE WEEK. It is not, as you might imagine, a week long series. No, it extends further but I liked the title WHITE WEEK. This is all about the 6th of 7 dollops of snow that the Garden of Eden, or Syde as we like to call it, had dished out to us this Winter.

Now you can see snow, snowdrops and water all in the same photograph.

do these flowers close when the sunlight is not on them and open when the sun shines on them ?

we have some that do that and when they're closed they look like these and i don't know what they are
gutteridge: I have not observed them enough to say.

Happy birthday, Chad, have a great day and I hope that by now all snow has melted. I admire that with the risk for your own life you went out on your own on this snow expedition showing us all the wonders of nature and life beneath snow.
gutteridge: I am taking more risks today with a visit to Salisbury. Thanks Astrid.
I never saw snowdrops until I moved to Europe, Chad, and now I find them to be one of Spring's greatest delicacies.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
gutteridge: They must have snowdrops in Trumpland Ginnie. Bigger and better than any snowdrops anywhere!

Thanks for the b'day wishes.

Oh, the hardy snowdrops are looking out to greet our BIRTHDAY-CHILD! A wonderful image!
gutteridge: Ah, many thanks Philine. Vielen dank.
People seem to think it is your birthday....surely you had one of those last year so why do you need another one?

The variety in this snap is most engaging
gutteridge: I did not want to be another year older Bill, but I just saw it coming and here it is. Oh well, you and I are still in our sixties.
What a delightful picture, do you have a stream running through your garden. Happy Birthday to you, being in my 60's.seems quite a long while ago now!
gutteridge: I will be in my 70s before I know it Brian.

Nice one, Chad!
Well, I've heard it's your birthday. (singing, with The Beatles playing behind me)

Having always lived with snow, it has it's beauty.
gutteridge: Yes, and it is good to have a break from lots of colour.

Oh yes.. so you can.

I believe it is your birthday today. If so, I hope that you have a splendid day and that your staff pamper you accordingly.
gutteridge: My son bought me lunch in a pub in Salisbury...no, don't...
It makes a nice mix, Andrew.
gutteridge: They seem suited Frank.
I see you sneaked a birthday in, Andrew, I hope its a very happy one.
gutteridge: I have made it a sort of tradition and make sure I have one every year.

Snow, snowdrops and water all in the same photograph. The likes of which Frank can't do with his best canyon pictures.
