Black Mondag

A rather mixed bag, Chapter II

It's been a while since we had such a dusting of snow. This is 2007. One year old Velvet, pictured, enjoying the cold stuff, is now ten years older. Well you do the mathematics. Weird that this was posted some time ago and now we have the same conditions. Well a bit more snow this time.

And now for the weekend no picture comment or not competition.

The winner is no relation of C W Phillips but he has the same surname. Yes, Bill won it for giving me a huge larf with his Saturday comment.

Oh I love this shot! We've not had any snow yet this year... so unusual for us. In fact we've not had any precipitation at all in 89 days...
gutteridge: Then you don’t want the fate that California is currently suffering.

Quelle épaisseur de neige, c'est très beau.
gutteridge: Many thanks Martine.

It's a wonderful image, Chad.

I remember your two cats, and recall Ginger Tom drew a little of my blood.
gutteridge: He still tells me how bad he feels about that.

This is actually a very good composition Chad.
gutteridge: That’s because Norma took it Tiff.
That's serendipitous for sure, Chad, to have queued this up before knowing we'd have all this snow right now! I'm in heaven, as you'd imagine!!!
gutteridge: Yesterday Ginnie, Norma and I stepped outside with camera and there was black Velvet joining us. I thought it very strange considering this was posted at least ten weeks ago.

Oh, I know where we are, and I thought that you had taken this image yesterday! We are on the same page today, but your snow picture is wonderful with the deepblack Velvet!
gutteridge: Hat scene was repeated yesterday Philine. The snow is beautiful but we had a power cut which lasted all day. Fortunately it came on by evening time. Hate being unable to get the car out, especially when I have things to do.

10+1=11 (I think). At least the cat now has reason to reflect on its youth.
gutteridge: Go to the top of the class Louis.

This looks great and maybe you should work with the weather prediction and say ' I felt my big toe itching and I think snow is coming'....... make sure you take some pictures to show in ten years from now, Chad.
gutteridge: Wouldn’t that be weird Astrid. Many thanks.
I hope you still have power Chad!

I am excited to have won. I seldom win anything
gutteridge: We have power. One thing about a cut is that it really makes you appreciate what it does for us. I am pleased you are pleased to have one.

You look so much older these days, Chad.
gutteridge: I will make a doctors appointment to ask him if there is something wrong with me.

Two of Norma's favourite things today, Chad
gutteridge: She is lucky in that respect Lisl.

Is Velvet as keen to go out into the snow? now she's 10? I think in 17 years, my cats only saw the snow once.
gutteridge: My two cats hate the snow, I have to make them go out each day for a time.
Positively surreal!
gutteridge: Stranger than fiction, as they say Tom. Just like Brexit.
A nice photo, Andrew,Velvet looks like she's enjoying the snow.
gutteridge: She did when she was young Frank, not so keen now.
My daughter got snow this weekend too. Everyone is so pleased. Thankfully we got raid so we're not having to shovel yet. Funny how the same thing means other things at different ages, even to Velvet.
gutteridge: Velvet is not very keen any more.
I am glad Velvet is still around...smile
gutteridge: Thanks Larry, she is doing well, but would prefer to be indoors.
welcome to winter...no snow here yet
